1940-1960 Mid-Century Modern
1960-1980 Post Modern
A 1960s exterior paint color, this warm mousy gray was a typical neutral tone well suited for midcentury modern or traditional homes. This color also shows up in the wallpapers of the 1950s where saturated neutrals in nuanced colors were used in bold combinations with magenta, teal, and deep green jewel tones. By the 1970s, many Americans were war weary after struggling through multiple international conflicts during the 20th century.
