A dark gray that might have been seen as an accent color in a 1950s wallpaper, this shade would be useful as a trim color on ironwork or other metal detailing, or as a shutter or sash color. As Americans moved to the suburbs, the 1950s marked a time of consumerism. Most middle class Americans were able to use their disposable income to buy what they wanted at this time, including new cars.
