Description

Probable Cause

• Too large an opening has been filled.

• The wrong type of caulk has been used for a particular application and exposure.

• Considerable movement or prolonged contact with water requires special caulks/sealants.

Solutions

• Select a caulk that best serves your situation, and apply strictly according to directions.

• For most interior painting, 100% acrylic caulks are recommended, because they seal cracks and adhere to most surfaces, even when moisture is present.

• Don't paint over silicone caulks.
